Arede Covid Tea

A “COVID toddy” is not a standard or recognized drink like a traditional hot toddy. However, if you’re looking for a comforting beverage to help alleviate symptoms associated with COVID-19, here’s a recipe for a soothing hot drink that may help ease discomfort:

Ingredients:

– 1 cup hot water

– 2 tablespoon honey

– 1 tablespoon lemon & lime juice

– 1 teaspoon grated ginger

– Optional: 1-2 cloves garlic (minced)

– Optional: Dash of cinnamon or turmeric for extra flavor and potential health benefits

– Optional: 1-2 ounces of whiskey, fireball or bourbon (if not contraindicated with any medications or health conditions)

Instructions:

1. Boil water in a kettle or on the stovetop until it reaches a simmer.

2. While the water is heating, prepare your other ingredients.

3. In a mug, combine honey, lemon juice, grated ginger, and minced garlic (if using).

4. Once the water is hot, pour it into the mug over the other ingredients.

5. Stir well to dissolve the honey and blend the flavors.

6. If desired, add a dash of cinnamon or turmeric for extra flavor and potential health benefits.

7. Optionally, add whiskey or bourbon to the mixture for a classic hot toddy twist.

8. Allow the drink to cool slightly before sipping, and enjoy the soothing warmth.

Double portion if needed for a family. Remember, while a COVID toddy might provide comfort, it’s essential to follow medical advice and treatment guidelines if you’re experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. This drink can help soothe a sore throat and provide hydration, but it won’t cure or treat the virus itself. To steam repeat the above cover your face with a towel and breathe! If you’re experiencing severe symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.

Women in History

Help me celebrate these incredible women!

COMMENT:

Dr. LaVerne,

You have been a channel of blessings for us all. I thank God for all that you have done for me and others. You are a true visionary who has led many projects that shined the true light on professional women. You honor every aspect of my mission Bible verse which states:

Philippians 2:3-4, “3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

I pray God will continue to strengthen women and bring us all to the forefront to carry out His purpose of our lives. May He guide us and bless us with success in everything we do. Dr. Laverne you’re truly an Extraordinary Woman of Valor.

Thank you for all you do and I appreciate everything you have done for me. I hope to work with you more in the future as I prepare my next project.

Dr. Carlette Satterwhite
